Harvard ManageMentor™
I led the redesign of HBP’s first SAAS learning application. To date, it has recognized $89.6M in new revenue. This offering continues to be the gold standard in the market for business soft skills learning and development.
My Role:
UX & Design Lead
Responsibilities:
• Creative Direction
• Vendor Management
• Prototyping
• Evaluative Testing
I engaged a UX agency to audit the current Harvard ManageMentor™ (HMM) experience and to facilitate stakeholder alignment. As we worked through the research and alignment phase, I managed the vendor relationship— working directly with the agency’s team—and ensured quality work was delivered on time.
In the design phase, I worked closely with Learning Designers and Developers to tackle the complex navigation requirements. I developed a scalable image strategy to accommodate 200+ lessons focused on business soft skills, and provided creative direction to our infographics vendor.
Navigation
HMM consists of 40+ topics. Each topic has a Lessons component, followed by an Assessment, and an On-The-Job application exercise. Lessons follow the pedagogy of Learn, Practice, Reflect. Working in close collaboration with our learning designer team, we wrangled this complexity into an elegant solution [see evolution below].
Picture Perfect
The image strategy I created to span 41 topics relied on abstract images that are simple, bold and can convey specific meanings. Each topic has 5-8 lessons that are grouped together by theme.
